Ruined Career?

As you may know, I was not asked to throw my hat into the ring for partnership this past fall. So yesterday, I applied for an interesting in-house job position. the 81 y.o. recruiter asked me to explain why I haven't made partner yet.

I think I'll ask my boss what I should tell the recruiter.
